Getting it together

So here it is...My first attempt at a Blog .
I have been encouraged to do this by  those who have supported this great adventure through donations of equipment and money as well as those who are simply curious about international rehabilitation.

I wish to document what happens when an ''experienced'' (40 something) occupational therapist leaves her job and her family for two months to support students on an international stage in rural India. It's something I wish I had done as a student but at the time (1992) the most far out stage I could get was in Charlottown, P.E.I. !

In the past months I have solicited friends, family, my employer  and  suppliers for donations of money and equipment for the disabled in India .  I am thrilled and grateful for the generous outpouring of donations and encouragement.  To date  we have filled 5 large pieces of luggage with equipments that were requested by previous therapists.  We will be able to buy more supplies in India  with the 4000$ received.  We are also bringing 4 wheelchairs.
